Davies launches new forensic accounting service with senior appointment

Davies, a leading provider of claims solutions and insurance services, has recently announced the appointment of Edward Leighton to lead its new forensic accounting division. Leighton will be responsible for closely working with Davies’s loss adjusting and claims third-party-administration (TPA) teams serving the insurance market, providing expertise on a range of issues, including business interruption, cyber, and major and complex losses.

Davies believes that the new forensic accounting division will play a crucial role in driving efficiencies across the claims process and provide additional value for insurance clients. The company has invested in technology to enhance its claims TPA and loss adjusting services in the UK and internationally, including drone surveying to provide fast, reliable data and the means to complete inspections virtually.

As head of forensic accountancy services at Davies, Leighton will be based in London and report to Russell Crewe, the chief operating officer for property and niche claims. Leighton expressed his excitement for the opportunity to develop and lead the new forensic accounting division, stating that their expertise will allow them to provide accurate and timely financial evidence to secure rapid and enhanced claims resolutions for clients.

Crewe added that Leighton has an excellent track record of quantifying the accurate financial impact of large and complex losses and his expertise will become an invaluable asset to the business, providing clients with an excellent level of service that minimizes risks, protects assets and enables clients to make informed decisions.
